A New York Tradition....
Gub Gub's owner Jack hails from Port Washington, Long Island; every morning before Junior High, he would pop in the back door of the Port Deli for a buttered roll, and a black coffee. Now "retired" to Southern Colorado, Jack has brought his tradition to Gub Gub's,
making Walsenburg taste like home!


....Across generations....
Jack and his wife raised their family in Long Beach, New York, where daughter and Gub Gub's owner Helena would start her day with a fresh bagel and a walk on the beach! She and her sister grew up indulging in the only hand rolled bagels in town, and knew that that, along with hand tossed pizza, bringing a fresh made bagel to Southen Colorado would fullfill their dreams of bringing a piece of their East Coast upbringing to Walseburg.
Now building new tradition!
Helena is now married to Gub Gub's owner Thomas, a fifth generation Walsenburg resident. Thomas worked tirelessly to not only built the perfect pizza crust, but to make Helena and Jack's dreams come true by perfecting the best bagel they've had at an altitiude of 6,300 feet! Between the three, Gub Gub's is thrilled to meld family traditions with a love of bringing community together over hand crafted food in Southern Colorado.
